Pickleball

Pickleball is the fastest-growing sport in the US by no coincidence! This fun, dynamic paddle sport is easy to learn and allows players to work on balance, agility, reflexes, and hand-eye coordination in a low-impact, fast-paced environment. We offer instructional programs and events for all ages in Tucson on our three pickleball courts located at our state-of-the-art Sarver Tennis Center. Pickleball programming is open to the community, with free court reservations and discounts on lessons and programming for J members. Click here to learn about our Sarver Saver Pass for guests!

Per Schwarzenberger

PICKLEBALL PRO

Per (pronounced "Pear") was born and raised in Sweden. After attending the University of Physical Education in Stockholm he worked as a P.E. and English teacher and lived many places in Europe and the US. In 2019 he decided to move to Tucson. Per loves to play and teach pickleball. He started playing at the J a few years ago and today he is an avid player who spends much of his time on pickleball courts around town. Per plays competitive pickleball and has multiple wins in both mixed and doubles tournaments. In 2022, he became a certified pickleball instructor (PCI), and is certified with the Professional Pickleball Registry (PPR). Per's teaching style is to teach to the student's needs above all else. He wants his lessons to be fun, informative, and to leave the student enjoying the game of pickleball and wanting to come back again for another lesson.
