Meeting at the Mountain: A Community Shavuot Experience

June 11 @ 7:00 pm - June 12 @ 4:00 am

Join us for Meeting at the Mountain: A Community Shavuot Experience from Tuesday, June 11 at 7pm to Wednesday, June 12 at 4am.
Join diverse Southern Arizona Jewish clergy, educators, and leaders for an innovative night of learning, eating, singing, movement, crafting, connecting and more. Your choice of ma’ariv experiences (evening services) begins the holiday, followed by deep and kinetic learning into the night – with multiple options in each time slot – delicious snacks throughout the evening, and two opportunities to gather as a community. Whether you join us for the entirety of the evening or pop in when works for you, we look forward to standing at Sinai together.

The program will run from Tuesday, June 11 at 7pm until Wednesday, June 12 at 4am.

8pm – Choose Your Own Session

9pm – Niggun Music Lab

Midnight to 4am – Choose Your Own Sessions

Jewish tradition teaches us that we stood at Sinai together for the moment of revelation. “You stand this day, all of you, before the Eternal your God—your tribal heads, your elders and your officials, every householder in Israel, your children, your wives, even the stranger within your camp, from woodchopper to water drawer— to enter into the covenant of the Eternal your God…I make this covenant…not with you alone, but both with those who are standing here with us this day before the Eternal our God and with those who are not with us here this day. (Deuteronomy 29:9-14)”

Since October 7, this year has been a challenging one for Jewish people across the globe. Just as we need each other to get through challenging moments, we need each other to experience revelation and the joy of Jewish life. The holiday of Shavuot is a gift, reminding us that doing Jewish is even more special when we gather together in community.

The program is planned in partnership with Congregation Anshei Israel, Kol Ami Synagogue, and the Tucson J, and is made possible by the Yale and Elinor Palchick Family Foundation held at the Jewish Community Foundation.
