Sculpture Garden

About

The Tucson J Sculpture Garden acquires and exhibits permanent sculpture through donations to its collection, purchase and donation of pieces from the annual exhibition, and long-term loans. Annual temporary exhibitions ensure the vitality and relevance of the garden on the local, regional and national art scenes. We feature the work of both established and emerging artists.

In accordance with the mission of The Tucson J, the Sculpture Garden welcomes the entire community. The convergence of art and audience in our Sonoran Desert region encourages visitors to relax, converse, meditate and contemplate.

The Garden was years in the making and generously brought to life through private donations. What began as a wonderful gift to The J has become a gift to the Tucson community – a place to come, enjoy, and celebrate art.

Thanks to our wonderful Sculpture Garden Task Force, this group of volunteers have worked hard to ensure that the Garden is a premiere arts venue in Tucson.

In addition to The J’s permanent collection, artists from around the world submitted pieces for consideration. The final pieces were selected by a jury and the inaugural temporary exhibition debuted in November 2009. All pieces from the juried exhibition and some of the permanent acquisitions are for sale with a portion of the sales going back to The J. An annual juried exhibition is held each spring, with more than a dozen new pieces being rotated into the garden.

Cycle for Good is back! Join Laura Swenson and music with DJ Thoolan for a special 2 hour Spin ride to benefit The J Taglit Program.

Spinning wheels will complement spinning dreidels as the fourth annual Movement-wide stationary bike event called Cycle for Good takes off on Sunday, December 22, 2019. Thanks to staggered start times, many participants in Cycle for Good will ride indoor bikes at the same time in Jewish Community Centers across North America. Each JCC will ride and raise money for a charity of their choice.

Reserve your bike now for 8am, 9am or both for a suggested donation of $18!
